Better With A Pen

As may have been previously stated, I live in the prettiest place on earth. You can not convince me otherwise. However, it is deeply unfortunate that through the months of July and August, every tourist to ever exist realizes this as well and invades. I mean, I can't exactly be mad about how the flood of activity downtown means that working uptown is blissfully easy. I reserve the right to be furious that it turns the five minute drive home into a twenty minute one, though.

So, Laura's basically the best and got me 'New Persepctive' early. I think it's been on repeat since last night. Lol, by the time we see each other next we'll have the harmonies right.

SJ getting Transformers makes me want my own. Yes, I'm predictable and uncool because Optimus Prime is my favorite. Deal with it. I mean, let's not lie, I favor decepticons pretty heavily, but Opty's got my heart for realz.

No work tomorrow. Can I get a HELL YES. I'm gonna hit the fucking beach so hard it's gonna say 'Ow'. That's not an exaggeration. My goal is to be at least four shades tanner by the end of the day.

Leaving NY today. As one may guess I did call out of work. Just made more sense. Instead, today we get to make the long treck back. There were a lot of pictures taken and a lot of jokes made and a lot of good times had, so I'm really glad I came and that I stayed and that it worked out so well. All things considered, it didn't really have to.

Watched 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' last night. And even though it's like the sixth time I've seen that movie in seven days, I still laugh out loud (obnoxiously) at the dinner scene where they talk about her shitty movie. "Absolutely awful film. Terrible premise. What if your mobile phone... killed you. That's ridiculous, how can a mobile phone have an agenda?".... "It's a metaphor! For... addiction to technology." "It's a metaphor for a crap film." I'm chuckling just writing about it. Does that guy remind anyone else of Tim Minchin? Lol, anyway, that was fun.

Began the quest to sort through bandom lyrics to apply to famous literature. Unsurprisingly it is at times both ridiculously easy and frustratingly difficult.

Waiting on pins and needles for the 28th. New Perspective. In other news, Idk if I can read interviews with Ryro anymore cuz the last one left me... uh, seething with anger. I'm trying to still love him. So hard. We'll see how that works.

This is the first time I've ever lost something that meant this much to me. Yeah, whatever, they were just a band, but they were also just something I loved. And I don't give a damn who you are, when you lose something you love, you're entitled to hurt for a while. They were a marker in time for me. My entire junior paper was written solely to 'Fever' on repeat for about a month straight. My entire freshman year of college was 'Pretty. Odd.' and I met some of the best people I've ever met because of that music and because it made me feel the way it did, shaped my mood and attitude and expanded my mind to let a whole host of new ideas in. My room is plastered with Ryan Ross's lyrics. Not to mention my posters and t-shirts.

I don't feel like something is gone or as though something's been taken. I don't feel like I've been wronged or that I'm owed something. I feel more as though its the end of an era and that all the moments in time I've tied to that music and those people are tainted now because there's an end date to everything.

I know entropy happens and blah blah blah. But never say it happens quietly. This is the riot. Now is the time to scream and be in pain about it. I will have my due time and be suitably hurt and weepy about it, there's no stopping that. I'm probably gonna go cry in a corner like a big baby, I'll be embarrassed later, I don't have the energy for it now.
